The duo enjoyed success together at Mainz before winning the Bundesliga twice with Borussia Dortmund.

They also guided the German side to the Champions League final and Buvac was known to be “the brains” behind Klopp’s ‘Gegenpressing’ tactics.

But their working relationship has come to a drastic end and here’s why.

According to the Daily Record, the duo had a major bust-up earlier in the campaign and was later kept completely out of the loop.

That included being excluded from team meetings and had no say in team selection.

Their animosity continued onto the training ground where they stood apart and barely even recognised each other’s presence.

But according to the Liverpool Echo, Buvac’s departure is down to “personal reasons” and his exit is only until the end of the season.

The club claim that the 56-year-old will remain an employee of Liverpool.
