JOSH WARRINGTON will attempt to make history at the home of his beloved Leeds United on Saturday night.
Elland Road will host the city’s first ever world title fight when Lee Selby defends his IBF featherweight strap against Yorkshire’s finest Warrington.

And despite squaring off in a stadium he is more used to cheering on his football heroes from the stands than fighting in, Warrington insists he has the skills to upset the odds.
Speaking exclusively to SunSport, Warrington said: “It’s 26 years since there was a boxing event at Elland Road, Henry Wharton in 1992 and now it’s here.
“It’s my time to bag the world title. What a night it’s going to be.
“The city of Leeds is craving a world champion and I’m going to give them what they want.

“With the support of an entire city behind me I’m going to create history. I’m going to give absolutely everything to get my hands on that world title. I’m grabbing this opportunity with both hands.
“I’ve been a Leeds United season ticket holder most of my life, but now I will have those fans cheering me on Saturday night.

“I’ve got many thoughts and emotions about fighting at Elland Road. It’s been a long way to get there.
“But come fight night, I am ready to upset the odds and become what I feel I am destined for, a world champion.”
