JOSE MOURINHO was happy to see his side lose to Barcelona and said Man United’s pre-season so far had been “perfect”.
Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by a Neymar strike at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland.
But Mourinho said it was good to lose and that he didn’t want his team to go unbeaten on their tour.
He told MUTV: “The defeat is good. It’s very important to lose a match in pre-season.
“It would have been very bad for us to leave the US without a defeat with the teams we’ve played.
“We were good and in the second half we defended much better.
“It’s one thing to defend against Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar and another thing to defend against three good players.
“The attitude was very good, the defending in the second half was better. Phil Jones and Eric Bailly pressed really high, we got into dangerous positions, and we could have scored.
