JOSE MOURINHO and David Moyes have both been charged by the FA this week.
Both managers are in the dock for different FA charges following their recent conduct. So what is the process, when can we expect an outcome and what punishment could be meted out?

The Manchester United manager has been charged by the FA for comments he made about referee Anthony Taylor in the build-up to the Premier League clash with Liverpool.

According to the FA it is alleged the Portuguese comments were improper and/or brought the game into disrepute contrary to FA Rule E3(1).
Mourinho said: “I think Mr Taylor is a very good referee but because such pressure is being put on him I think it will be difficult for him to have a very good performance at Anfield.”
The FA monitor closely Premier League bosses’ comments before games, however they are allowed free reign post match as long as the officials integrity is not questioned.
Black Cats boss Moyes has been charged with misconduct by the FA after being sent to the stands for swearing at an official during the defeat to Southampton at St Mary's on Wednesday.

The FA charge says it is alleged that "Moyes used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official".

Both managers have seven days to respond to their individual charges, meaning Mourinho and Moyes are free to patrol the technical areas this weekend.
The pair can contest the charges and request a personal hearing to explain or mitigate their behaviour.

If both accept the charges then the case goes to the three-person independent panel that can consist of a former player, FA County member and QC.
The panel has rarely gone against any FA charge, to the point where the FA success rate is just north of 99 per-cent.
In both cases the punishment could range from a warning or fine or even a stadium ban.
Previous brushes with FA bigwigs could be taken into account when punishment is meted out.
The Portuguese was handed a one-match stadium ban and fined £40,000 in November after the FA backed referee Jon Moss' claims Mourinho while still in charge at Chelsea refused to leave the officials' changing room and verbally abused him.
Mourinho was also fined £50,000 for claiming referees were afraid to award Chelsea penalties in that extraordinary post-match rant after defeat to Southampton last October.
