JOHN TERRY is about to be offered a lucrative payday to end his career in China with Shanghai Shenhua.
Ex-Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet is the new boss of the mega-rich Chinese Super League side and he wants to make the Blues’ skipper his first signing.

Terry does have Chinese connections: last summer he made a one-man tour of China and was named an ambassador of football culture in Guanghzou.

Terry took a pay cut when he signed a one-year deal in the close season but would actually prefer to stay at Stamford Bridge, where he is currently on £50,000 a year. He could trouser at least double that in China.
However, there is no indication yet that boss Antonio Conte is keen to extend the 35-year-old central defender’s stay in the King’s Road.

Stalwart Terry, a one-club man, is currently out with a gluteus problem that will keep him out of Saturday’s top-of-the-table trip to Manchester City.
In fact, he has appeared just once as a substitute since Chelsea started their impressive seven-game Premier League winning streak.
