JAMIE CARRAGHER claimed spitting was “vile” and “disgusting” in a rant about former Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse in 2015.
Sick footage emerged of the Sky Sports pundit and Liverpool legend spitting in the face of a 14-year-old girl after her father teased him about Manchester United’s 2-1 win over the Reds.

Ex-Toon ace Cisse was given a seven-game ban for gobbing at then-Man United defender Jonny Evans in March 2015.
Carragher, in his Daily Mail column, said at the time: “As usual, there have been a number of people who have said ‘it is the worst thing that can happen on a pitch’; it is vile but let me assure you now – I would have preferred Lucas Neill to have spat at me the day he broke my leg in September 2003!
“I was spat at once in my career. It came during a Uefa Cup game against Celta Vigo in 1998 and the player in question was a Russian midfielder called Aleksander Mostovoi.
“I was shocked more than angry when he did it because I couldn’t believe what had happened.

“Cisse has admitted being in the wrong and hit with a seven-game ban.
“I know it is a disgusting thing to do but I do think that punishment seems a little excessive, particularly if you compare it to an over-the-top tackle that would ‘only’ get three games.”

Sky Sports are set to meet Carragher, 40, for showdown talks today while Danish TV have dropped him from appearing as a pundit for tomorrow night’s Champions League coverage of Manchester United versus Sevilla.
Police can bring assault charges over spitting – or prosecute as a public order offence.

Joey Barton said he can’t see how Carragher won’t be sacked in an interview with talkSPORT.
And former Wimbledon hardman Vinnie Jones warned the Sky Sports pundit he would have dragged him out of his car and knocked seven bells out of him had he spat at his daughter.
Ex-England defender Carragher claimed he had been “goaded” by the family and apologised for spitting.
He tweeted: “Totally out of order and I’ve apologised personally to all the family this evening.
“I was goaded three/four times along the motorway while being being filmed and lost my rag. No excuse apologies.”
