IVAN RAKITIC is the next star Barcelona hope to tie down to a new deal.
The La Liga giants have already secured the futures of Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano and Neymar in recent weeks.
And the Croatian midfielder is next on the list alongside Luis Suarez, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Sergi Roberto and Lionel Messi.

Rakitic joined the club in the same summer as Suarez and has become one Barca’s key men under boss Luis Enrique.
Although the club are always looking to snap up the next big thing, retaining the backbone of the side that has brought them so much success in recent years in their number one priority.

Sporting director Robert Fernandez said: “Improving the squad we have is very difficult, if not impossible.
“We are looking for young and easy-to-fit players, but the priority is to keep the team’s core.”
Rakitic is the player to have made the most appearances under Enrique and few partnership’s in Europe can match that of his and Sergio Busquets.
He signed a five year deal when moving to Nou Camp in 2014.
