ITALIAN legend Francesco Totti has incredibly claimed, “Roma forced me to quit football” at a team dinner on Thursday night.
The club icon, 40, joined in 1989 as a youth team player, going on to serve in the first-team for 25 seasons, making 785 appearances.

Totti will call time on his illustrious career at the end of this season, having recently announced his retirement.
It would be impossible to see Totti ever wear a shirt other than Roma‘s, with club sporting director Monchi revealed he would take up a directorial role.
He claimed: “In terms of Totti, I already knew that there was an agreement with the club that this would be his final year as a player, then he’d start as a director.
“Francesco is Roma. I want to be as close to him as possible.

“I’d love to learn even one per cent of the huge amount that he knows.”
But now it seems Totti is not happy with the club, incredibly suggesting the decision to call time on his Roma career was not his own.
Speaking at a team dinner – with coach Luciano Spalletti absent – Totti reportedly said: “These have been complicated, difficult months.

"I would have liked to help you all more, but you know how things went.
“Now they’ve forced me to stop, and I can’t even conceive of myself not wearing the Roma shirt anymore.
“Anyway, thanks to all of you for your kindness.”
