A potentially nasty injury to Robbie Brady overshadowed an unconvincing win for the Republic of Ireland.
The Norwich winger was stretchered off with a neck brace after a clash of heads with Georgia defender Solomon Kverkveliya left him unconscious.

Seamus Coleman scored the only goal in a lacklustre display for Martin O’Neill’s side.
Georgia more than held their own at the Aviva Stadium, dominating the first half.
The visitors should have taken the lead on 37 minutes when Levan Mchedlidze headed onto the underside of the bar.

Then from the rebound they hit the woodwork again with Guram Kashia’s looping header coming off the post.
The decisive moment came in the 56th minute when Coleman scored the kind of goal you would normally only see when playing a younger sibling on a video game.
The Ireland captain beat the Georgia left back before his cross cannoned off two defenders and back for him to literally dribble the ball over the line.

Brady's horrific injury led to 7 minutes added time being played but in truth Georgia never really threatened.
Ireland could have made it 2-0 when James McClean's header cannoned off the bar in the 91st minute.
After the game the FAI tweeted to give an update on Brady's condition and thank fans for their messages of support.
