Roma started the game brightly and almost took the lead in the 8th minute when Mohamed Salah’s effort from outside the box was saved low down by Samir Handanovic.
But just four minutes later they found the breakthrough in some style, star midfielder Radja Nainggolan lashing home his attempt from the edge of the box into the top right-hand corner.
Inter almost replied immediately as straight from kick-off, Joao Mario had his shot expertly blocked by Kostas Manolas who diverted the ball away from danger.

Edin Dzeko then almost doubled the lead for the Giallorossi but his low left footed drive was stopped by Handanovic before it nestled into the far corner.
Marcelo Brozovic thought he then equalised for Inter, but his shot from the centre of the box was parried away for a corner by Wojciech Szczesny just before half-time.
The home side were bossing the early stages of the second period, first Antonio Candreva stinging the hands of the on-loam Arsenal shot-stopper, before Ivan Perisic skied over when it looked easier to score.

They were made to pay for their missed opportunities as Nainggolan scored yet another screamer from outside the box in the 56th minute as he led a Roma counter and chose to go alone to lash in his 12th of the season.
But in the 81st minute Mauro Icardi got his side back in the game, after he tapped into an empty net for his 16th Serie A goal of the season after being found by Ivan Perisic at the back post.
However Gary Medel then brought down Dzeko inside the box just three minutes later, with Diego Perotti coolly slotting home in the bottom right corner to maintain his 100% record from the spot.
