In their 19th game of the season Italian side Benevento finally won a game in Serie A

BENEVENTO have broken their curse and have finally won a game in Serie A.

After 18 games without a win, the Italian side beat their fellow strugglers Chievo Verona at home.

Benevento are Serie A debutants, and have struggled in their first season- but miraculously today they claimed their first win.

In the 64th minute Benevento found the back of the net and managed to not concede for the remainder of the game.

Winning the last game of the year should be some sort of motivation for the Italian side as they strive to avoid relegation.

Italian fans are known as a passionate bunch, but Benevento’s fans raised the roof in the Ciro Vigorito stadium and videos on social media showed that the sound, from the celebrations, could be heard across the town.

Massimo Coda was the man behind the goal, which coincidentally was his first strike of the campaign.

The club made headlines across the world recently when their goalkeeper found the back of the net from a diving header in a last ditch attempt, in the dying minutes.

In a bid to gain a point, Alberto Brignoli launched himself to meet the ball from a free kick and left AC Milan’s goalie dumbfounded.
