DONCASTER’S clash with Fleetwood was almost postponed after a sprinkler EXPLODED moments before kick-off.
The incident left a huge hole in the pitch at Keepmoat Stadium, sparking fears the game could be delayed.

Referee Darren Drysdale, match officials and club members all inspected the gaping hole as the 3pm kick-off time loomed.
The hole was reportedly up to a foot in diameter according to the Star – created as a result of a sprinkler malfunction.
But luckily for the fans travelling for the match, the problem was sorted by the groundsmen who worked tirelessly against the clock.
Sand was used to fill in the hole, while the grass itself had to be re-turfed to make sure it was up to standard.

And the incident appeared to have no effect on Darren Ferguson’s men who raced into an early lead.
Alex Kiwomya opened the scoring in the 13th minute, firing in from close range after being found by John Marquis.

And things got even better for the Rivers when Tom Anderson doubled their lead in the 27th minute.
The defender on loan from Burnley tucked his shot low into the bottom right corner as Doncaster took a 2-0 lead into the second half.
