Huddersfield transfer news: Terriers plot a sensational move for Monaco defender Terence Kongolo

Kongolo, 23, has told pals he is heading to the Premier League after struggling for regular football in France.

Bordeaux were also interested in signing him for the rest of the campaign but Wagner has moved swiftly to land the Swiss-born defender.

He played in the Champions League earlier in the campaign when he featured against Porto but Monaco are willing to let him out on loan for regular games.

The former Feyenoord defender is equally at home either at centre-half or left-back but that versatility hasn’t helped him in France.

The centre-back has played just six times in the league so far this term.

Huddersfield are keen on luring the 23-year-old to England as they have conceded the fourth most goals of all Premier League clubs this campaign (32).

The Terriers have made a promising start to life in the Premier League and currently sit 12th after claiming 24 points from their 21 games so far.
