HUDDERSFIELD TOWN are ready to clinch a record £10 million deal to sign Aaron Mooy from Manchester City.
And the Premier League new boys are seeing off Southampton and Brighton in the race as they back up their bid with a lucrative contract.

Australian star Mooy, 26, is going to be made the best-paid player in the club’s history with a £35,000-a-week pay package in the Premier League.

It is a massive statement from Terriers owner Dean Hoyle – but Mooy is rated a key player by boss David Wagner and the boat is being pushed out.
Wagner enthused: “Aaron has been a consistently outstanding player for us, and I have said this before – he is the heart of our game.
“He is able to decelerate when necessary, or accelerate the game if you need it.

“Aaron is so comfortable and calm on the ball, and has developed his fighting attitude since he arrived.
“He came here as a no 10 and, usually, no 10’s are not the best fighters. But now, since he played a little bit deeper, he has a great fighting attitude.

“You don’t often find a player who is so comfortable on the ball and has such a battling streak to go alongside it.”
Mooy has been a sensation for Huddersfield since joining on loan from City where he was signed a year ago and then immediately into the shop window.
City will make a huge profit on a player who never appeared for them with the price shooting up after Saints and Brighton inquired.
Midfield playmaker Mooy is due back from international duty and set to sign in a major boost for the Yorkshire club.
