Huddersfield Town are set to make a £3m move for Sochaux defender Mickael Alphonse
HUDDERSFIELD are lining up a £3million move for Sochaux defender Mickael Alphonse.
Terriers boss David Wagner has earmarked the right-back as cover and competition for skipper Tommy Smith.

And club officials have contacted the French outfit about a deal for the 28-year-old, who was voted the best right-back in Ligue 2 last season. Wagner’s men have made a dream start to their first top-flight campaign since 1972, winning 3-0 at Crystal Palace and beating Newcastle 1-0 on Sunday.
Paris-born Alphonse joined Sochaux from fellow second-tier side Bourg-Peronnas last year.
He has previously played for lower-league outfits Louhans-Cuiseaux, Rouen and Moulins.
Club coach Peter Zeidler has voiced his wish to keep hold of Alphonse as Sochaux push for a return to the top flight next May.
But Huddersfield, who have already made a raft of signings since gaining promotion, possess the financial muscle to grant the defender a dream move to the Premier League.
