Huddersfield 0 Sheffield Wednesday 1: Fernando Forestieri penalty seals victory for the Owls in Yorkshire derby
HUDDERSFIELD missed out on the chance to return to the top of the Championship when they crashed to defeat against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
David Wagner’s side were knocked off top spot as Norwich and Newcastle both recorded victories on Saturday.

And Fernando Forestieri’s second half penalty was enough to give Wednesday the bragging rights over their neighbours as Huddersfield lost at home for the first time this season.
The Italian had earlier wasted a golden opportunity to put the Owls in the lead when he raced clean through on goal, only to clip his lob against the base of the post.

But he made no mistake from the spot on 68 minutes after Rajiv van La Parra handled in the box as Wednesday climbed up to ninth in the table.
It could have been worse for Huddersfield late on when Liam Palmer burst through one-on-one, only for Danny Ward to save his side.
The defeat ended the 100 per cent home record Wagner’s side had enjoyed at the John Smith’s Stadium this season.

Forestieri said: “It was great to get the chance to take the penalty because I felt I wasted a great chance when I was one-on-one.”
Wednesday defender Sam Hutchinson added: “I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, Fernando is the best player in the Championship.”
