WINCANTON
1.40 – Mullen’s star bet
MOLINEAUX comes from the Colin Tizzard stable that has a good record in this race.
He still has plenty to learn over hurdles but has shown some promise at novice level and goes handicapping for the first time here.
He was coming back from seven months off when fourth at Warwick latest and can build on that.

FINGERONTHESWITCH ended last season poorly but he’s best when fresh so a six-month break should have done him good.
He’s had a breathing op too since being pulled up at Sandown so could easily rediscover his best form. That would put him right in the picture for this off what looks a fair mark.
2.50
BARMAN came back to something like his best when second at Bangor last time and a 5lb rise in the weights for that looks fair enough.
His best form has come over today’s distance and it will be interesting to see how the first-time hood works.
3.25
ORIENTAL FIXER is consistent and was bang in contention at Hexham last time until a late mistake meant he had to settle for second.
This trip holds no fears and he goes off the same mark as that last effort.

DAN MCGRUE won well on all three of his point-to-point outings that have come since he won a Roscommon bumper way back in 2016.
Things have clearly not gone to plan since then but he’s with top connections and should have a bright future.
4.35
VENDREDI TROIS shaped very well when third at Worcester last time. The handicapper has left his mark alone despite that solid run and he is suited by this sort of distance.
This looks an open race and he can hit the frame at least.
