3.00 NEWBURY: Challow Novices’ Hurdle
JUST the six line up for this Grade 1 but there is fair case on the trends for most of them.
The two that have a mountain to climb are Dans Le Vent and Mulcahys Hill.
They are both out with the washing when it comes to the betting and 8-1 is the longest priced winner in the past 10 years.

Another key trend is to have won last time out. Eight of the past 10 Challow scorers have a tick in that box.
So Poetic Rhythm falls by the wayside because he was third of six at Cheltenham last time out. His win strike-rate isn’t the greatest full-stop.
That leaves us with three contenders — Kilbricken Storm, Way Back Then and Dame Rose — who all pretty much fill the trends requirements.

Runners with that plus to their name have an impressive 40% strike-rate in the Challow.
Ben Pauling’s hopeful was impressive at Kempton last time and deserves this step up in class.
