HIBERNIAN manager Neil Lennon has been hit with a five-match suspension by Uefa for “acts of violence against the referee”.
The former Celtic boss was sent to the stands during his side’s 1-0 Europa League qualifier defeat against Brondby last month.

Lennon, aged 45, was sent to the stands after remonstrating with Spanish official Juan Martinez Munuera after Jason Cummings had a goal disallowed during the first-leg defeat.
The match in Denmark, which was his first competitive fixture in charge since taking over at Easter Road this summer, had gotten off to a nightmare start after his men fell behind inside 20 seconds.

And he was left raging when Hibs were denied an equaliser.
His actions saw him handed an instant one-match touchline ban for the second-leg, which eventually saw last season’s Scottish Cup winners eliminated on penalties in Denmark.

But after an investigation, Uefa’s control, ethics and disciplinary body has handed down the punishment to the former Leicester City midfielder.
