Prosecutors claimed she was killed after demanding Bruno pay child maintenance for their baby son.
But he was released last month after serving almost seven years behind bars.
He had previously been linked with a move to Barcelona thanks to promising spells with Corinthians and Flamengo.
And he was hotly tipped to play for Brazil in the last World Cup.
Bruno’s football career appeared over, however, when he was also found guilty of hiding the body of Eliza Samudio and kidnapping their kid in 2010.
