GERMANY and Chile blew Group B of the Confederations Cup wide open as the two giants played out a 1-1 draw this evening.
Alexis Sanchez became Chile’s all-time leading goalscorer in a tense clash but the Arsenal star’s early strike was not enough to put his side in control of the group’s top spot.

The game started at a frenetic pace but nobody was predicting that Sanchez would be putting Chile ahead with just five minutes on the clock.
The Arsenal star took advantage of a clumsy error by club teammate Shkodran Mustafi to put himself through on goal and put himself in the Chilean history books.

Sanchez now has 38 international goals to his name, putting him ahead of Marcos Salas - and there will surely be many more to come.
However, Chile failed to find a second despite pushing large numbers of men forward at times.

And World Cup champs Germany eventually found a way to goal when Stindl fired in minutes before the break.
The result means the two nations need just a point each in their next games to guarantee qualification from the group, with bottom-feeders Australia and Cameroon also drawing earlier in the day.
