Gerard Pique claims Barcelona would have taken a loss at Deportivo to beat PSG following shock 2-1 defeat in La Coruna
BARCELONA were brought back down to earth with a bump by Deportivo today.
A Luis Suarez half volley was not enough to prevent the Catalans succumbing to a shock 2-1 defeat in the Northwest of Spain.

But Gerard Pique was philosophical following the loss and claimed the Barca squad are “not machines” and had achieved what they’d hoped for this week with their win over PSG.

A Neymar hat-trick, a Lionel Messi penalty and goals from Luis Suarez secured one of the greatest comebacks ever in a 6-1 win over the Parisians.
And Pique said: “Everybody in Catalonia would have taken us coming back against Paris Saint-Germain and then losing to Depor.

“This is sport, we are not machines. After the performance on Wednesday it was always going to be hard to compete today.
“We have to congratulate Depor, they have won this game.”
Neymar was rested after his midweek masterclass, but Pique felt that today’s starting eleven should have been strong enough to win the match.
He said: "[Depor] also played during the week, it's not an excuse and the schedule is hard for everyone.
"Every game demands a lot of effort and Wednesday was the same.
"Neymar gives us a lot, but we played a team of sufficient quality to win here.
"We dominated from the beginning and had control. Making it 1-1 gave us confidence, but after it was 2-1 it became too difficult."
