Francesco Totti’s son Cristian shows he has some skills of his ownGetty Images
Francesco Totti cheered his son on from afar, as he doesn’t enjoy the spotlight his son has because of his father’s fame.
His wife Ilary Blasi explained to Gazzetta dello Sport: “I don’t like the attention surrounding my son, Cristian.
“It is not right that a baby should have to carry such a weight of expectation.
“Had he been born with a different nickname, no one would have followed him.”
Francesco Totti waves to adoring Roma fans not long after his son’s birthGetty ImagesFrancesco Totti is now 41 and has been with Roma since the age of 16Getty Images
There are genuine expectations surrounding young Cristian, who captained Roma’s Under-9s in a 3-1 7-a-side victory over derby rivals, Lazio, in 2014 — netting his side’s third goal.
Totti Snr. has spent his entire career with Roma since making his debut at the age of 16.
This season, however, could be his last in football as he entered his 41st year — but has still managed two goals in Serie A.
