SALOMON KALOU has put paid to any chances of a Premier League return by insisting he expects to sign a new deal with Hertha Berlin.
The former Chelsea attacker has been attracting interest from a host of clubs in the English top flight and around Europe after a fine start to the Bundesliga season.

But he said: “I think I will sign a new contract with Hertha in January.
“My contract finishes next year but I’m really not thinking about contracts, I’m thinking about enjoying my football and playing well.
The rest will take care of itself.”

Kalou, 31, bagged a hat-trick in the recent 3-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach and has hit the net 26 times in 69 appearances since moving to Germany.
He has previously been linked to Arsenal, with boss Arsene Wenger understood to be an admirer after watching him play more than 150 games for rivals Chelsea.

Kalou has bags of Premier League experience and lifted seven major honours with the Blues – the Premier League, the Champions League, four FA Cups and the League Cup.
But the Ivory Coast star says he intends to stay in Germany before finishing his career at Feyenoord, his first professional club.

He added: “I think I have many years left as a player, but I dream of ending my career with Feyenoord. It is a club close to my heart and where everything started for me.
“A lot of people in Feyenoord helped me become the person and the player I am, so if I can end up playing there again before the end of my career then I’ll be happy.”
