Wachs’ aunt, 59, was killed in the attack outside the store which she owned near Frankfurt, while her husband, 63, was also injured.

No one has been arrested over the attack as yet.

However the police are investigating whether robbery was a motive and are on the hunt for a man between the ages of 20 and 30.

Wachs — who can play in the centre or on the left side of defence — moved to Dresden in the summer from Mainz.
