But Portugal remain three points behind Group B leaders Switzerland.

Moutinho’s top-corner curler after slick passing down the right was the goal of the game as the visitors waited until late before truly turning on the style.

Silva fired a 12th minute opener before completing a first-half treble from midfield with a header and neat finish.

Ronaldo strode forward to thump a left-footer inside the far post on 65 minutes.

Then, just as Portugal seemed to be settling for a routine victory, Moutinho rounded off a slick right-side move with a top-corner finish for the goal of the game.

And Cancelo too pounced in the four added minutes to give Portugal a goal difference of plus 10 from their three games.
