With the Premier League all done and dusted, we’re left with a rather large football and, of course, fantasy football-shaped hole in our lives.
And with no major tournament to occupy our lives over this summer, we’ve entered a rather bizarre period of reflection.

And having looked back at this season’s Dream Team best XI based on points, it’s time to look at the seniors of the league (we mean that with the utmost respect, of course).
So without further ado, which players aged 30 or over were the top points scorers this season?
Take a look:

GOALKEEPER

Goalkeepers tend to peak later than outfield players, so the majority of the world’s best shot-stoppers are a little older.
And that’s certainly the case for 30-year-old Spurs ‘keeper Hugo Lloris (130 points), who’s also the top goalkeeper for our outright team of the year as well.
Not bad, eh?
DEFENCE

We were a little hard-pushed for high-scoring midfielders over-30, but you can’t beat the assurance of City’s David Silva (153 points) in the middle of the park.
Man City’s Aleksandar Kolarov (147 points) completes our back-four as perhaps a surprise inclusion.
MIDFIELD

We were a little hard-pushed for high-scoring over-30s, but you can’t beat the assurance of City’s David Silva (153 points) in our midfield three.
Silva’s teammate Yaya Toure (120 points) had a good season despite a slow start, while Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas (116 points) adds some cool-factor.
ATTACK

It won’t surprise too many of you that Zlatan Ibrahimovic (290 points) tops our team of oldies, with Leicester’s Jamie Vardy (153 points) picking up considerably after a poor start to the season.
Completing our front-three is Patrick Swayze impersonator Fernando Llorente (133 points).
Can’t wait for next season? Here’s everything you need to know about the Dream Team game – which will be back and better than ever in 2017/18.
