A FORMER Samoa rugby captain has showed off his horrific eye gash after an amateur match – and joked that he’s been given “a new mouth”.
Dan Leo, 35, came off second best in a bruising tackle then took to social media to post a gruesome picture of the huge cut above his eye.

Leo, who was playing for minnows Bishop’s Stortford against Old Albanians, said on Twitter: “It seems that god has blessed me with another mouth.”
Club director of Rugby Andy Long watched on from the side lines and was unaware of how serious his injury was.
Long said: “I saw him go down on one knee after running into their fly-half.
“I thought he had hurt his shoulder, then the physio told me he had cut his head and had to leave the pitch.

“Then when I was told he was on his way to hospital, that’s when I realised it was serious.
“Later he posted the picture of his cut eye on our WhatsApp group and then we all saw how nasty it was.”

Stortford eventually lost 36-17 to Old Albanians without Leo, who went straight to hospital to have stitches put in over his eye.
The forward, who won the Heineken Cup with Wasps in 2007, joined the club this season after moving to the area to be closer to his wife’s family and was keen to keep playing for a team close by.
Long played against Leo for Newcastle while the Samoan was at Wasps and the man capped 39 times for his country has been a great addition to the group.

He added: “He’s been great for us, he’s such a humble guy, and he’s come on in and been one of the lads and just mucked in.
“He’s played a few more minutes than we thought due to the amount of injuries we’ve suffered and it’s great for the lads to have someone like him in the team.”
The injury has come at a perfect time for Leo as he’s flown back to Australia for three weeks to visit family and should be available for selection on his return.
