Everton transfer news: Toffees closing in on Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini and are willing to offer him a whopping £3m-a-year

EVERTON boss Ronald Koeman has stepped up his chase in the transfer market by offering Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini £3million-a-year to join Goodison Park.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Koeman is keen to bolster his attacking options and eyes Gabbiadini who has struggled to force his way into the Serie A side.

The 24-year-old started just four times in the league last season and Napoli are willing to listen to offers as they close in on a move for Juventus’ Simone Zaza.

Gabbiadini, who could cost around £25m, started in Napoli’s opening fixture of the season but was hooked off after 53 minutes as the Italian side drew 2-2 with Pescara.

Koeman is far from finished in the transfer window with deadline day approaching at the end of the month and is willing to offer Gabbiadini a whopping £3m-a-year to lure him to the Premier League.

West Ham looked to be in the running for Gabbiadini but Slaven Bilic has turned his attentions elsewhere.

The Toffees boss has already splashed out on the likes of Yannick Bolasie for £25m but is concerned with the lack of attacking options available to him.

If all else fails then Koeman could turn to Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli after his powerful agent Mino Raiola offered the striker to Everton in a shock move.

The Italian is desperately seeking a new club after being told he has no future under Jurgen Klopp.
