Everton transfer news: Michael Keane’s future in doubt as Sam Allardyce looks set to offload underperforming defender

MICHAEL KEANE’S Everton future is in doubt as boss Sam Allardyce looks to move him out in this window or the summer.

England centre-half Keane has had a rocky time at Goodison since former Toffees manager Ronald Koeman signed him from Burnley in a deal worth  £30million.

The 25-year-old’s confidence appears to have been knocked by the weight of the price tag and expectations he can meet the demands of chasing glory at a would-be top-four club.

Allardyce is concerned about Keane’s form and ability to handle the pressure and is looking for two new central defenders.

Big Sam would love to land Jonny Evans from West Brom and is still tracking Lille’s Adama Soumaoro.

It will be hard to recoup the cash for Keane (left) but the word  is that a deal could be completed before this window shuts.

And Everton have every reason to sell quickly as Keane’s valuation will drop even more if his problems continue and he misses out on England’s World Cup squad.

The England international has only played once for the ToffeeS in 2018 due to a recurring football first suffered in September.

Big Sam will hope to turn around the Toffees form and lead them to a first win in eight games on Wednesday when they come up against Leicester in the league.
