Joe Ledley has been included in Wales’ 23-man squad for Euro 2016 – less than a month after breaking his leg.
The Crystal Palace midfielder broke his leg on 7 May but convinced Wales’ manager Chris Coleman and the Wales medical staff during the five-day training camp in Portugal last week that he is on course to make a miraculous recovery to feature in the tournament.

It is an incredible comeback from Ledley, who sustained a hairline fracture of his left fibula following a challenge from Stoke’s Charlie Adam just 24 days ago.

Coleman said during his squad announcement today that Ledley, who has won 62 caps for his country, has a “good chance” of featuring for Wales in their first match of the tournament against Slovakia in Bordeaux on 11 June:
The manager said: “With this type of injury, he’s ahead of the curve. We think he’s got a good chance for that [Slovakia] game.”

Five days after facing Slovakia, Wales take on England in the Group B clash in Lens.
