Euro 2016 hero boss Chris Coleman gets stamp of approval from his ex Belinda despite kicking her and kids out of their house

FOOTBALL boss Chris Coleman achieved the impossible during Euro 2016 – reconnecting with his bitter ex-wife.

The Wales manager, lauded for leading the Dragons to the semi-finals, even won plaudits from the partner he repeatedly cheated on.

Two years ago betrayed Belinda Coleman told how he was evicting her and their kids from a two-bed flat.

Relations were at an all-time low after he left his family and set up home with Sky Sports beauty Charlotte Jackson.

But Coleman’s success in France has even won over Belinda – and she sent him a good luck message during the campaign.

He jokingly replied ‘do you really mean that’ – putting an end to their bitter hostility following the breakdown of their marriage.

Belinda said: “There are issues still but I don’t want to dish the dirt on Chris. I’d get lynched for a start.

“I’ve moved on. There is no bitterness on my part anymore.

“I sent Chris a message because our son Sonny went out to the Wales versus Russia game.

“I was worried sick about him being targeted by hooligans, especially because he looks so much like his Dad.

He has achieved something tremendous leading Wales so far. I know the players would have done it for him, he has the common touch

“I asked Chris to make sure Sonny was in a safe area of the ground, and to wish him good luck.

“Chris replied assuring us that Sonny was safe – and wondered if I had really meant the good luck bit.

Belinda, who is English, added: “Even watching the England versus Wales I was rooting for Wales because of him. I was quite surprised.

“All four of our children went out to France to watch Wales beat Belgium, and they loved it. They are so proud of their Dad.

“They don’t see their father much, because he is busy with his new family now.

“Our girls live with me but they have met Chris’s new wife Charlotte, and they dote on their child Finley.”

Belinda, who is single since the split and living in Banstead, Surrey, added: “I’m proud of Chris. I was there through his playing days and in his early days of management.

“Chris is where he is today because of his father Paddy.

“He’s not with us anymore but he’d be so proud.

“Paddy was Irish and so Chris could have played for Ireland.

“Gary Speed would be thrilled too. We know his family very well.

“Chris was always very driven. Unfortunately for us the temptations surrounding the industry proved too much for him.

“He has achieved something tremendous leading Wales so far. I know the players would have done it for him, he has the common touch. I wish Chris all the best.”

It was all very different in 2014 when Belinda was forced to look for a new home as her ex planned his marriage to blonde TV presenter Charlotte.

Belinda, 51, was given two months to leave the two bedroom flat she shared with Sonny, 23, Christy, 21, Faraday, 18 and Georgie, 16, as 46-year-old Coleman liquidated two businesses to pay debts of more than £500,000.

Belinda lifted the lid on how their dream marriage turned into a nightmare – and how his flings led to their split after 19 years together.

Belinda then said. “He’s an adulterer and I just became bored of his indiscretions.

“His affairs were into double figures. And I’d even confronted three or four of the women. I never ranted at them. I just told them they weren’t the first and they wouldn’t be the last.

“And I told him if he wanted to be with them, he should just walk out and leave us alone to get on with our lives.”

Belinda once famously hid a tracker in Coleman’s car to catch him out when he was Fulham manager.

She once caught him with a girl when he was manager at Coventry and staying in a flat there.

Belinda, who met and married Coleman within seven months when he playing for Crystal Palace, even warned Charlotte: “I have a sneaking feeling that in a few years’ time she’ll be sitting there with the baby.

“He’ll be playing away when he gets the chance. Leopards don’t change their spots, do they.”
