RIVER PLATE are reportedly lining up a move to bring homesick Erik Lamela back to Argentina from Tottenham.
The attacker has not played since late October due to a hip condition, for which he travelled back to former club Roma to receive treatment.

He was also allowed to return back to his homeland last month for extra time off, reportedly due to the passing of his family pet – a dog named Simba.
That led to suggestions that the 24-year-old star was homesick and unhappy at Spurs.
Both the player and the club have since brushed off the dog story, but the Argentine international’s absence from the White Hart Lane pitch continues.

And reports from South America on Thursday have claimed that due to an unspecified family situation, Lamela could be about to depart England to return to his first club River Plate at the end of the season.
Argentina’s Radio La Red report that the Buenos Aires club have already opened talks with Spurs over a potential deal.
Last week, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino responded to the rumours regarding Lamela.

He said: “You never know where they come from but he is happy and we keep in touch every day. Maybe he was a bit worried about some comments, and for that he expressed his feelings by social media.
“He is very happy here, focused. He suffered a lot because he likes to play and be on the pitch. These rumours don’t help him. We tried to advise him only to be focused and to recover as quickly as possible. He should forget all that has happened around him.”
