JIMMY ANDERSON took his first five-wicket haul Down Under to lead an unlikely Ashes fightback.
Australia were bowled out for just 138 meaning England need 354 to manage a shock win.
Anderson, 35, took two wickets in the morning and picked up where he left off with three in the afternoon.
He told BT Sport: “I really enjoyed that spell with the new ball.
“We knew today it wouldn’t swing so much with the sun out but we really wanted to concentrate on bowling that fuller length and we did that.
“All the bowlers bowled brilliantly, we created pressure from both ends and got the rewards in the end.”
England’s batsmen need a remarkable score to level the series.

But Anderson remains hopeful after the last two sessions. He said:”I think it shows we’re still fighting.
“We’re very disappointed with the way the first two innings have gone from this game.
“We knew we had to do something special to get ourselves back into it. We are still are behind the game but we’ve got a chance of winning, we’ve got plenty of time to get these runs.
“It’s going to take something really special from our batsmen. But if two or three guys put their hand up and score big hundreds then we’ve got a great chance.”

Anderson, who passed 500 Test scalps last summer, warned his England team-mates of the challenge they face from Australia’s bowlers.
He said: “It’ll be a challenge [against pink ball] but the bonus we’ve got is were not facing a new ball in the lights, it’ll be 30 overs old by then so that’s one positive we can take into our innings.

“They’re going to come hard at us to start with as they always do, but it’s up to us to bat as long as we possibly can – we’ve got a day and a half to bat.
“If we can do it well and a couple of guys stick their hand up and score big hundreds we’ve got a great chance.”
