The England squad is staying amid tight security at the Grove near Watford ahead of  Tuesday night’s friendly with Italy at Wembley.

Sources said the fan was carrying a plastic bag with his swimming kit after using the hotel pool on Sunday evening.

He walked over to speak to some of the players before he was ushered past security by an FA coach waiting for Smokey.

Footage then shows him knocking on a door, saying: “Room service, Mr Lingard.”
