England fan holds up fake World Cup as Three Lions seal qualification to Russia 2018

ENGLAND were criticised for their bland performance in their 1-0 win against Slovenia as they sealed qualification to the World Cup.

But one optimistic fan seemed delighted with the result as he held aloft a fake Jules Rimet trophy.

The Three Lions struggled over the line against Slovenia to book their place in next year’s tournament.

Harry Kane scored late on as fans in the stands seemed more interested in paper airplanes than the game itself.

But as the England team celebrated a supporter proudly held up his replica World Cup trophy.

However, as some fans saw the funny side, a few people on Twitter were not impressed by the man’s antics.

England fans stayed away in their thousands from the game at Wembley.

There were 1000s of empty seats that could be seen with the majority of the fans their becoming restless at the lacklustre performances.

Until Kane stabbed home his goal, the biggest cheer of the night came when one Three Lions fan lobbed a paper plane from the stand into the goal.

But at the end of the day, Southgate’s team are going to Russia as Group F winners with a game in hand.
