ATLETICO MADRID boss Diego Simeone has warned his side to be wary of “very dangerous” Jamie Vardy ahead of their Champions League clash against Leicester.
The two teams meet in Spain for the first leg, with the Foxes big outsiders to progress into the semi-finals of the competition.

But in Jamie Vardy, they have a player who would fit into the Atletico team, according to Simeone.
He said: “I like him, I really rate him as striker. He is the kind of powerful striker Atletico have had.

“He also gives the team a lot of depth, and makes life really difficult for defenders to get ball out.
“He is very dangerous and if we make any mistakes, he will penalise that.
“Last season he was very consistent, very good.
“This season as we all know he was struggling a little bit at the start but now he seems to be back on form.”

Atletico are third in La Liga and have lost just four games at home in all competitions this season but boss Diego Simeone is clearly wary of Vardy, who has scored seven goals in his last ten games.
Simeone’s Spanish giants will be looking to go one better this season having been beaten finalists to cross-town rivals Real Madrid last year.
Meanwhile, the Foxes – having won their fairy-tale Premier League crown last year – have had an indifferent domestic season but still find themselves in the biggest European tournament.
Under the guidance of Craig Shakespeare, they won six matches in a row until Sunday’s 4-2 defeat to Everton – including beating Sevilla in the last 16 to set up this quarter final tie.
