It seems UEFA will provide the funds for founding the league, while the participants will demand a Champions League group stage place for the winner and an Europa League group stage place for the runner-up.
The league, to begin in 2018, will include 24 teams divided into six groups. Group matches will be played in the autumn, followed by knockout stages in spring. The final will be a one-off game at a neutral ground.
