So Wilder decided to poke fun at what he clearly believes would be an easy night’s work.

He posted on Instagram a still of promoter Eddie Hearn with Whyte. Under Hearn’s face Wilder wrote: “We will call out Wilder after the fight to take pressure off Anthony Joshua.”

Then under Whyte it read: “You trying to get me f***** up!”

Wilder has an unbeaten fight record of 40 victories, 39 by KO. Whyte has just one defeat on his record, with 23 wins, 17 by KO

Speaking ringside after his stunning defence of the WBC silver heavyweight world title at the weekend, Whyte was adamant who he wants next.

Shouting into the TV cameras, he said, “Deontay Wilder where you at? Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go.

“I’m ready. Let’s do this. I’m No 1 baby, let’s go. I’ve proved I’m world class.

“I’ve worked hard. I’ve been up in Loughborough working hard and training in some c**p garage, cold as hell, no heating, training my nuts off — and it paid off.”

Whyte’s trainer Eddie Hearn has also demanded Wilder accepts an offer to fight his man, with June mentioned as being the month it could happen.

As a result of his victory, Whyte moved into the mandatory position for Wilder’s WBC crown.
