Dejected Alexis Sanchez flies from Heathrow alone after Arsenal are humiliated in Munich

A FRUSTRATED looking Alexis Sanchez flew out of Heathrow airport alone on Thursday less than 24 hours after Arsenal’s humiliation at Bayern Munich.

Despite his away goal at the Allianz Arena, Arsenal are on the verge of another Champions League last-16 exit after being embarrassed 5-1 at the German giants.

The Chilean looked like he had had enough of life at the club when he crumpled to the ground when Bayern’s fifth flew in late on.

And it appears as though Sanchez will be spending time away from the club to clear his head after he was snapped at Heathrow airport early on Thursday.

It is believed that Sanchez arrived back with the rest of the squad in London late on Wednesday but wasted no time in jet setting again as he arrived at Heathrow for a 8:45am flight the following day.

It means he is almost certain to miss Arsenal’s FA Cup clash with Sutton next Monday as boss Arsene Wenger aims to give his key man a break.

His future is under the spotlight as he delays putting pen-to-paper on a new deal to extend his current contract which expires in the summer of 2018.

And Arsenal will be well aware that further stalling could mean they lose a fortune if he was to see out the remainder of his contract.

The £35million man has been Arsenal’s stand-out player throughout the campaign but it appears as though he is losing faith with the rest of his team-mates and the manager.

The Gunners are seemingly out of the title race as they sit 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea.

And their defeat in Germany means they face last-16 elimination for the seventh consecutive season.

It could also spell the end for boss Wenger as a vastly growing number of Arsenal fans believe his time at the club is up.

The Frenchman won’t be leaving the club before the end of the season but he will decide at the end of the campaign whether to end his 21-year tenure.
