RYAN GIGGS could finally be set to land his first job as a manager – to replace David Moyes at Sunderland.
Today the 54-year-old took the decision to walk away from the Black Cats, who were relegated from the Premier League this season after finishing bottom.

And former Manchester United favourite Giggs is the bookies favourite for the job.
Ladbrokes have him priced at 9/2 favourite to take the reins at the Stadium of Light.
Alan Pardew, out of work since being sacked by Crystal Palace is next best at 5/1, with Nigel Pearson and Garry Monk both priced at 8/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It wasn’t too long ago Giggsy was filling in for Moyes at United, and the market currently suggests history will repeat itself at Sunderland.”

Moyes met with owner Ellis Short and chief executive Martin Bain in London this morning.
Despite having three years left on his four-year deal, he told them he had no desire to carry on and manage the Black Cats in the Championship.
He said: “I would like to thank Ellis Short and the board for giving me the opportunity to manage Sunderland and the fans for always being so passionately supportive of their club.
“I wish the players and my successor well in their efforts towards promotion back to the Premier League”.

Supremo Short added: “I pursued the services of David Moyes for a considerable period prior to his appointment last summer, which makes the announcement of his departure difficult for everyone concerned.
“Having worked tirelessly throughout the campaign to avoid relegation from the Premier League, David has chosen to leave the club without compensation, which is testament to his character.
“In the days ahead we will take some time for reflection, and then focus on recruitment and pre-season as we prepare for our Championship campaign.
“We wish David well in the future.”
