David Luiz returns to Chelsea training after saying goodbye to former Paris Saint-Germain team-mates

DAVID LUIZ has returned to Chelsea training after wishing his former Paris Saint-Germain team-mates an emotional farewell.

The blundering Brazilian returned to Stamford Bridge on deadline day as owner Roman Abramovich stepped in to secure a staggering £32million deal to bring him back from the French to the English capital.

And with the deal being done so quickly, Luiz did not have time to say goodbye to his PSG team-mates.

He has since been back and is now back training at Chelsea's Cobham training ground ahead of this Sunday's Prem clash at Swansea.

Luiz told PSG's official site: I'd like to thank everyone at Paris and in France. I had a wonderful two years here.

"I really enjoyed myself. I love this country, even though people often try to get me to say mean things about France and Ligue 1. It's not true!

"I have only given one interview since my departure, and that was when I was presented to the press at Chelsea.

"From my arrival in Paris to my departure, I always did my best to respect everyone.

"I respect everyone at Paris Saint-Germain, in Paris and in France.

"I leave here with a lot of fantastic memories. Thanks to everyone… and make the most of your life!"

Luiz ended up back with Blues after they failed with moves for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli.

It has since emerged that they also targeted Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule in a £25m move.
