Joyce won silver at the Rio Games in the super heavyweight category but delayed turning pro until he received an offer he couldn’t refuse.

He was officially unveiled as a Hayemaker fighter on Wednesday at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in central London.

As well as appearance money, Joyce can expect to pick up extra payments every time he wins.

Weighing around 17 stone and standing six foot six, Joyce has the tools to become one of the big noises of the heavyweight division where London Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua is already a world champion.

The 31-year-old Londoner, who has a 2:1 university degree in fine arts, turned down a possible career in ruby union with Rosslyn Park to pull on the gloves.

Haye said: “He will become a world champion. The heavyweight division better watch out.”

And Joyce added: “It's like a family. I've fitted in well.

“I'm surrounded by great people and it's an honour to be around great promoters.

“I'm fit and raring to go, I can't wait to get back in the ring."
