David Beckham’s cornrows voted ‘most iconic’ in football history while Sir Bobby Charlton’s side parting voted the worst England barnet

DAVID BECKHAM’S cornrows have been voted the most iconic hairstyle in football history.

The dodgy locks, which Becks wore in 2003, beat Ruud Gullit’s dreadlocks and Brazilian Ronaldo’s shaved head into top spot.

Becks has admitted himself the look was a ‘bad decision’[/caption]

Becks himself admitted the look was not his best.

The former England skipper said in 2015: “The topknot wasn’t too bad but the braids were a bad decision.

“It was bad timing as well as I was going to South Africa at the time with England and ended up meeting Nelson Mandela, so that’s why I regret that one.”

It was a tightly run race, however, with Beckham’s barnet picking up 25 per cent of the total vote, only three per cent more than Gullit.
