DANNY WELBECK took to Twitter to reassure Arsenal fans that he pulled out of the Bayern Munich clash with illness and not injury.
The striker was replaced by Frenchman Olivier Giroud moments before kick-off to lead the line against the German giants.
Danny Welbeck’s illness has ruled him out of the clash with Bayern Munich
Rumours circulated before the game that the striker was hit with another injury curse.
The striker has already spent most of the season on the sidelines having started just one Premier League game this season.
The 26-year-old missed 31 games for the Gunners from the end of May last year until the following January.
And although the update will be a relief for Arsene Wenger, he will be slightly concerned as team-mate Mesut Ozil was unable to start as he recovers from illness.
