Crystal Palace transfer news: Alan Pardew looking at Mathieu Flamini after missing out on Jack Wilshere to Bournemouth

ALAN PARDEW has turned to Mathieu Flamini after missing out on Jack Wilshere.

The Crystal Palace boss, 55, had hoped to replace Mile Jedinak with the England midfielder on deadline day – but was snubbed as Wilshere chose a move to Bournemouth instead.

And now Pardew is looking at former Arsenal midfielder Flamini – a free agent – to solve his midfield crisis.

According to the Guardian, there are four teams in for the anchorman, including Roma, Olympiakos and another of his former clubs AC Milan.

The Frenchman left the Gunners in July after his contract came to an end but hasn’t found a club over the summer.

It was revealed that he had a company called GF Biochemicals which he had kept secret for seven years – and believes will save the planet.

With the transfer window now shut, loan deals are no longer permitted by FA rules and free-agents are the only way of Pardew strengthening before January.

He played 24 times for Arsenal last season - and Palace have left a slot open on their Premier League squad list for the midfielder to take.

As well as Wilshere, Palace were chasing James McCarthy from Everton but were unable to get a deal through after Moussa Sissoko's move to Goodision fell through.
