De Boer will be unveiled on Monday after a clip posted by the club’s official Twitter account showed white smoke coming out of The Original Tasty Jerk takeaway – which just around the corner from Selhurst Park.
The video posted by Palace, who have announced a press conference on Monday at 2pm, mimics the way in which the Vatican confirms the announcement of a new pope.
The Premier League club tweeted the video with three smoke emojis on Monday morning.
With De Boer, 47, on the verge of being announced as Palace’s new boss, he is also set to become the club’s second foreign manager after Italian Attilio Lombardo in 1998.
It was exclusively revealed by The Sun that Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish had offered De Boer the hot seat at Selhurst Park.
De Boer’s twin brother Ronald said the former Inter Milan and Ajax boss is ‘very excited’ about becoming Palace’s new boss.
Ronald told talkSPORT: “He is very excited of course.
“I know they are talking and I think it’s just about little terms with the coaching staff etc, so I don’t see any problem, but of course it is not for me to say if it is a done deal.
