Cristiano Ronaldo is the undisputed king of the Champions League and these are the mind-boggling figures that prove it
CRISTIANO RONALDO is the undisputed king of the Champions League.
And last night he proved it again by smashing more records with a hat-trick – his second in as many games at Europe’s top level – that all but sealed Real Madrid’s spot in the final.

Match-winner Ronaldo was hailed as “unique” by boss Zinedine Zidane and team-mate Toni Kroos called him “incredible”.
Really, it is no surprise given the mindblowing figures he has compiled while competing for Ol’ Big Ears.
Ronaldo’s three goals last night gave him 103 Champions League goals – a record.
Beaten rivals Atletico have 100 in total.
He has 54 at home – a record – and 47 away – also a record.

He has 52 goals in the knock-out stages – a record that leaves Lionel Messi a distant second on 37 – and 31 assists – yep, another record.
Ronaldo’s hat-trick last night was his seventh in the Champions League, joint highest with Messi.
He is the first player to score a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in all European competitions.

Thirteen also proved Ronaldo's lucky number.
The ex-United hero has 13 European Cup/Champions League goals in semi-finals - two more than previous best and Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano.
And, at the grand old age of 32, he became the first player to net a hat-trick in consecutive Champions League knock-out matches.
Ronaldo's individual brilliance is intrinsically linked to Real's success as a team.
It has been more than ten years since Ronaldo scored his first Champions League goal - in Manchester United's 7-1 thrashing of Roma.
And if they create history by becoming the first team to win back-to-back Champions League titles then the Portuguese will have four titles of his own over what could arguably be called a decade of individual dominance.
That will put him level with Messi and a host of other Barcelona rivals including Andres Iniesta.
