Coventry fan’s dogs chew up four of his family’s six Wembley tickets for Checkatrade Trophy final v Oxford

EVERY fan’s biggest nightmare before a dream match has just come true for Coventry supporter Jamie Conneely.

His two dogs chewed up four of his family’s six tickets for Sunday’s Checkatrade Trophy final against Oxford at Wembley.

Jamie went to bed on Thursday night with his suitcase already packed for what could be a rare special day in a so-far miserable decade for the Sky Blues.

But he woke to find huskies Storm and Sky had “ransacked” the whole case – and targeted the smallest but most important things in it.

He told the MailOnline: “I’d be angry at them but I’m more concerned as they managed to get hold of the flu capsules too.

“I feel like I’ve let my family and friends down as well because the tickets are for myself and them, and now four have been destroyed.”

Jamie faces a 280-mile round trip from Weymouth in the West Country to Wembley.

And he has been making frenzied efforts to remedy the situation.

He explained: “I’ve been on the phone non-stop to Coventry City.

“I spoke to Wembley and they said I had to speak to the club.

“There’s just no getting through on the phone and I can’t exactly go to the ticket office because I live in Dorset.

“Myself, my other half and stepson are going, but they have their tickets.

“The tickets that have been chewed up are for other family and friends.”

Bottom side Coventry are taking on their eight-placed League One rivals after beating Wycombe 2-1 in the semi-finals.

The U’s, meanwhile, needed Marvin Johnson’s late, great winner to see off Luton 3-2.
