CONOR McGREGOR has called out Nate Diaz for a third fight as he plots his return to the UFC octagon.
It’s 1-1 between the two fighters, and after his Las Vegas boxing fight against Floyd Mayweather ended in defeat, McGregor is keen to complete his Diaz trilogy.

McGregor believes that because he re-matched and beat Diaz at 170 pounds, it’s only fair that Diaz comes down to 155 pounds to meet him for the decider.
Speaking to the BBC, McGregor said: “I faced him at 170lbs, he beat me.
“I re-matched him at 170lbs, I beat him. Now I’m the 155lbs champion, now if he wants that fight, he must come down – that’s a fair trade.
“I didn’t ask for the rematch at a lower weight. I asked for it at the exact same weight. I thought that was a fair play move on my behalf and I came in and I won.”
McGregor is offering Diaz a shot at his lightweight title should the California fighter want to meet him for a third time.
He added: “So now I won the 155lb title after that, so if he wants the fight he has to make the 155lb limit.”

McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar said that Diaz wants “wants that triology” but there are other options in the table.
Attar told MMAJunkie: “You’ve got Khabib [Nurmagomedov] calling him out, then you obviously have Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee who are fighting for the interim lightweight title.
“You have Max Holloway, who is the 145 champ now, who Conor beat after blowing out his ACL at the beginning of the fight. You have options, and he loved mixed martial arts.”

Attar added that McGregor has no plans of retirement after his biggest payday against Mayweather.
He said: "Everyone is like, 'Oh he's going to retire - he made so much money.'
"He's ambitious. He's super ambitious, and he loved to fight. He loves to compete and he's a superb professional athlete.
"So, there's much more Conor McGregor that everybody will see, and we'll see what's next."
